Since the 1980s when the first cases of HIV/AIDS was recorded in Zambia, The Zambian Government and communities have faced spectrum of social problems such as vulnerability of orphans, widows and aged. This has brought serious deterioration in the health of the vulnerable orphans, widows and aged who are faced with a lot of economic challenges especially that the Zambian government divert financial resources to medication and importation of HIV/AIDS drugs, it’s for this reason millions of vulnerable orphans, widows and aged are experiencing deep poverty in absolute terms.
Enormous mental stress as a consequence of witnessing Aids and other illness including death of their beloved parents living the vulnerable orphan to start supporting the family mainly less than 13 years old. This makes the vulnerable orphan and other vulnerable children with a profound sense of insecurity in turn breeding the even growing need and demand for Tebuho Mulala Foundation- hence forth the Foundation has realized that its only through education for orphans, empowerment of widows and aged can bring a meaningful life.
