Background
Tebuho Mulala means a gift from the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an initiative by Mr. Tebuho Mulala who thought it wise to help the poor and feeble orphans, widows and aged people to be self-reliant.
The Tebuho Mulala Foundation was established as a more organized means to solve the emergent problems relative to the alarming number of vulnerable orphans, widows and aged in Zambian communities.
Foundation Scope
Since 1980s, when the first case of HIV/AIDS was recorded in Zambia, Zambian Government and communities have faced spectrum of social problems, such as emergence of poor and feeble orphans, widows and aged people. This brought serious deterioration in the health of the orphans, widows and aged who have to face a lot of economic challenges. Also, the Zambian government has diverted financial resources to medication and importation of HIV/AIDS drugs, eventually leaving the lives poor orphans, widows and aged people to their destiny. This is one of the main reasons that these needy people are experiencing deep poverty in absolute terms.
Enormous mental stress and illness are some of the consequences our orphans have witnessed as Aids and other illness including death have taken their beloved parents away from them, leaving these orphans as sole support of their families, often from an age of less than 13 years old. The loss of parents and loved ones as filled the hearts of these homeless orphans with insecurity. These factors left us no choice but to form Tebuho Mulala Foundation. The Foundation has realized that through education, these orphans, widows and elderly can build meaningful lives.
